From Fukuoka: Kamado Shrine & Saga Autumn Foliage Tour

Autumn leaves at Kamado Shrine
and Kunenan or Niiyama Shrine

Depart from Lawson near Hakata Station and arrive at Kamado Shrine at the foot of Mt. Homan after about 45 minutes, spending 30 minutes on the maple-lined path and shrine grounds. Then head to Saga and visit Kunenan Garden, open only during the foliage season (admission extra), for about 30 minutes. When Kunenan is not open, you visit forest-surrounded Niiyama Shrine instead.

Lunch, then a walk in Kankyo Geijutsu no Mori

Enjoy a set-menu lunch for about 40 minutes at a local restaurant in Yoshinogari. Extra dishes outside the set are at your own cost. Then explore Kankyo Geijutsu no Mori park, where autumn leaves reflect in the pond, for about 30 minutes (admission extra).

Mifuneyama Rakuen and Yutoku Inari Shrine

At Mifuneyama Rakuen, a Japanese garden with over 170 years of history, enjoy thousands of maple trees, ponds and views of Mt. Mifune for 40 minutes (admission included). Finally, spend about 1 hour at Yutoku Inari Shrine, famous for its vermilion buildings, and look over the Saga countryside from the upper viewpoint. Afterward, return to Hakata by bus.
