From Fukuoka: Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine & Aso Kusasenri and Kurokawa Onsen Day Tour

Aso and Kurokawa Onsen in one day

Meet at 7:40 a.m. in front of Lawson Oriental Hotel Fukuoka by the Chikushi exit of Hakata Station and depart by bus. It takes about 2.5 hours to the first stop, and after visiting the shrine, grassland and hot spring village in turn, you return to the same place. The guide speaks English and Chinese.

Walk the forest path of Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine

This shrine is known as a setting of the anime "Hotarubi no Mori e". For about 45 minutes, walk along the mossy stone steps and lantern-lined approach, feel the atmosphere of the forest shrine and take photos.

See the Aso volcanic landscape at Kusasenri

Spend about 1.5 hours at Kusasenri-ga-hama. From the viewpoint you can see the roughly 25 km wide Aso caldera and the smoking Nakadake crater, and horses grazing on the grassland next to the crater lake. The grassland changes color with the seasons, from green to gold.

Relax in the mountain hot spring village of Kurokawa Onsen

Enjoy about 1.5 hours of free time at Kurokawa Onsen. Stroll or shop in the hot spring village, or take an open-air bath with natural spring water if you like. Bathing fees are not included and are paid on site.
