Meet at Uehara Port
and head to the Urauchi River mangroves

Meet your guide at Uehara Port (上原港) on Iriomote Island and drive about 15 minutes to the Urauchi River mangrove forest (浦内川マングローブ林). If you are staying in the Uehara area, free pickup is available. About 90% of Iriomote Island remains primeval jungle, and its plants and animals live almost untouched by humans.

Paddle by SUP or canoe along a calm river lined with mangrove trees that seem to walk on their roots. Listen to the sounds of the jungle, look for rare birds and creatures found only in the Ryukyu Islands, and finish paddling at a waterfall hidden in the emerald forest. Canoes are more stable, making them a good choice for families with children.

Have lunch and enjoy canyoning on the Omija River

Return near Uehara Port and take about 1 hour to relax over lunch at a local restaurant of your choice (at your own expense). In the afternoon, move to the Omija River and spend about 1 hour canyoning, using the river as a natural water park. Under your guide's careful supervision, jump from rock platforms into clear water and slide down smooth sections of the riverbed surrounded by limestone formations.

Your guide takes photos all day with a professional waterproof camera, and all photo data is provided free of charge. Hot showers are available after the activities, and the tour ends at Uehara Port.
